I have wanted a Passion Planner for FIVE YEARS!!!
I remember the exact moment I first saw a Passion Planner because it was the summer before my youngest son started school. I’d taken him to see ‘Bing’ at the theatre and there was a woman sitting next to me looking at a planner. Instead of just asking her what it was, I spent the whole show glancing across at this planner, until she finally closed it and I saw that it was a Passion Planner.
When I wasn’t working that much I couldn’t really justify the cost of the planner and getting it shipped over from America, so I spent the next few years watching all the YouTube videos and following all the hashtags on Instagram, pining over this planner that one day would be mine.
Now, the time has come.
2023 is the year.
I have my very own Passion Planner!
Small planner (A5: 5.8” x 8.3”)
Monday start – so both the monthly & weekly layouts will start on a Monday (you can choose a Monday or Sunday start)
The Alpine Lake cover (beautiful!)
Flush monthly tabs – Soothing Sea palette
Gratitude & Affirmations sticker book
One of the reasons I love Passion Planner as a company is that it’s essentially a social enterprise like my company, which for them means two things:
A proportion of profits from each different planner design goes to charity. The Alpine Lake one I chose supports charity:water
They have a ‘buy one, give one’ policy so for every planner purchased they give a planner to someone in need
Let’s get into the details.
The first page describes how you will benefit from your Passion Planner, gives some background to the company and a little about how the planner works, plus there is space to answer three ‘Fresh Start’ questions:
What is the biggest goal you would like to accomplish this year?
Who or what motivates you most?
Write some words of encouragement for yourself to read during hard times.
We then move onto more detail about how the planner works and how to get the most out of it.
Your Passion Roadmap
I’m really looking forward to filling in this section. Here, we are encouraged to use a mind map tool to set big goals and break them down into key steps which are then transferred over to your weekly layout to help keep you on track.
Then, we have the Year at a Glance for both 2023 and 2024 plus Passion Planner’s ‘Space of Infinite Possibility’ which you will see throughout the planner.
We then move to the first monthly layout.
As well as the month to view with space to add detail to key dates we also have:
This month’s focus – personal & work
People to see
Places to go
Things to learn
Space for personal projects & work projects, broken down by priority and due dates
Break it down – space for your mind map of this month’s gamechanger
This is followed by the weekly layout.
Here we have:
A vertical appointment style layout with half hour timings
This week’s focus
Good things that happened
A quote and a little inspiration
Personal & work to-do lists, broken down by priority
Today’s focus for each day
Space of Infinite Possibility
I chose the small size of Passion Planner because I wanted an A5 planner – this is what I’m used to and what I prefer. However, I knew when choosing this that because of the amount of content in the planner, the spaces to write in, especially for each day’s appointments would be very small. You can download a free handwriting test from the Passion Planner website to compare the space that you get in each of the planner sizes. I knew if I didn’t try the small planner first, I would always wonder if I could have made the smaller space work for me. If it find it just doesn’t give me enough room or it gets too messy, then next time I will choose a medium planner.
The Passion Planner comes with a single ribbon, in the lime green of the Kickstarter brand, as that’s where the story of Passion Planner begins.
At the end of each month’s set of weekly layouts we then get a page for monthly reflection.
I love the questions in this section:
What was the most memorable part of this past month?
What were the three biggest lessons you’ve learned this past month?
Review your planner for the past month and assess your priorities. Are you happy with how you spent your time? If not, what steps can you take next month to adjust them?
What did you accomplish this past month? What are you most proud of?
How are you different between this past month and the month before it?
What or who are you especially grateful for this past month?
Name three things you can improve on this upcoming month. What are concrete actions you can take to work towards these improvements?
From 1-10 how do you feel about the past month?
Then we have an ‘End of the month checklist’
Immediately after the December monthly reflection we then have an ‘End of year reflection’ which asks:
From 1-10, how do you feel overall about this past year?
What advice would you give yourself at the beginning of the year?
What were the three biggest lessons you learned this past year?
What is one way to incorporate these lessons into your life?
Review your planner for the past year and assess your priorities. Are you happy with how you spent your time?
How are you different between this year and the last?
What or who are you especially grateful for this past year?
Name three things you can improve on next year. What are concrete actions you can take to work towards these improvements?
We then have 10 double-sided blank pages and 12 double-sided dotted pages.
The planner comes with a few sheets of stickers too.
I also bought the Gratitude & Affirmations sticker book, and chose the flush monthly tabs.
The cost of all of this, including shipping to the UK was as follows.
2023 Passion Planner, small, Alpine Lake cover - £44.00
Gratitude & Affirmations sticker book - £22.00
Flush monthly tabs – FREE (this was a promotion that was running when the 2023 were first launched, where you got to choose a product for free – usual price £10.00
Shipping to UK - £12.00
Total paid - £78.00
I am very happy with the planner and other products I bought and can’t wait until 1st January when I can start using them!
I’m not an ambassador for Passion Planner, and as they are not sold on Amazon, I don’t get any commission if you buy one, so you can be sure this is an unbiased and independent review.
As this is my first Passion Planner, I will write about how I get on with using it throughout the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them underneath the video here.
